The Asia Onshore Finance department is currently an approx. 30-person team of skilled finance professionals, covering Vestas' wind turbine markets in the Asia region, including Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, India etc. As part of the broader APAC Finance team of approximately 60 colleagues the Director of Asia Onshore Finance reports directly to the Senior Vice President and CFO for the Asia-Pacific region.

The location of the position is flexible, but would preferably be in one of our offices in Tokyo, Seoul or Chennai, depending on the need of the candidate.

Responsibilities

The role of Finance Director for APAC Offshore Finance is to supervise the Finance function regarding subregion Strategy and Planning, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting and Risk Management, in the undertaking of delivering substantial and complex sustainable energy infrastructure projects.

As the Finance Director of Asia Onshore Finance, you will be a key member of the subregion Asia Onshore leadership team as well as the APAC Finance leadership team. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Develop a team of finance professionals across different locations, building a collaborative and efficient culture within the finance department. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Identify project related financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies, including currency exposure, interest rates, and other financial risks. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to policies.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regional and group leaders, auditors, and regulatory bodies.

Monitor and report financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions. Develop the subregional monthly Performance Reviews.

Oversee financial reporting monthly, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, while assuring timelines and completed project of all audits, internal and external, as well as statutory accounts.

Develop the budgeting and forecasting process for the subregional area. Collaborate with stakeholders to set financial targets and track performance. Evaluate investment proposals and assess their financial impact.

Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights to policy makers and leadership peers.

Influence and implement financial strategies aligned with business targets.

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles.

Master's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field

Experience from project oriented organisations; infrastructure and energy are a bonus.

Full understanding of financial regulations and compliance.

Solid experience working in a matrix.

Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin, Japanese or Korean is desirable.
