Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

To serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. To prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests and act as cashier for the lounge.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mix, garnish and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control by use of shot glass, jigger.

Inputs the order into the micros POS to inform the kitchen of the particulars in the order being placed and to generate a check for each guest and maintain accountability for all food and beverage served

Maintains proper and adequate set-up and cleaning of the bar on a daily basis. This includes but is not limited to requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, glassware, and flatware, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.

Responsible of the keeping the glassware, flatware, & china clean and polished at all times.

Presents the check to guest promptly. Receives payment (Cash, Credit Card, Room Charge, and Travelers Check) from guests, makes any change needed, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, balanced and closed all moneys at end of their shift.

Responsible of keeping the designated amount in the personal bank at all times

Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality.

Responsible for the cleanliness of the Bar and Equipment in the bar which includes but not limited to; Blenders, shavers, Taylor Machines, Sinks, Bar counters, floors, cabinets, display cases, Bar mats etc.

Replenish beverages as requested. Check with guest to inquire about service and meal satisfaction.

Market and serve upon request any appetizers, entrées, dessert items or specialty coffees

Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank at designated amount.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Bartending School accepted.

Experience:

Prior Bartending experience in a high volume Bar/Restaurant/Hotel required.
