Job Summary:

The Field Network Support Technician will troubleshoot and maintain the organization’s network systems throughout the footprint of the YMCA of Greater Boston and our IS partner organizations. The position will be a mixture of traveling to YMCA centers in the greater Boston area and working out of the corporate office in Boston.

Salary Range: 49,725 - 75,400Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintains network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, and related network software and applications.

Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.

First level user support provided to end users for systems and hardware including:

Desktop, laptop and servers, networking, security and monitoring systems, branch specific hardware, WiFi, VoIP telecom, file servers, active directory, anti-virus, and endpoint management systems.

Communicates with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.

Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime.

Maintains email and intranet services, adding and removing users and accounts.

Collaborates with network administrator to review and analyze hardware and software needs; recommends changes.

Collaborates with vendors on large scale projects related to the technology infrastructure of the organization.

Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education, Licenses and Experience:

Associates degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.

At least three years of experience in network maintenance and user technical support preferred.

A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications highly preferred.

Valid driver's licensePhysical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

May be required to work on-call or long hours in case of network malfunction.
