Opened in May 2021, the brand new Nevada Cares Campus emergency shelter admits men and couples and serves as a space where staff provides access to basic services and a more secure location for individuals not wishing to move into congregate shelters.

We are looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide Primary and Urgent Care services to the homeless patient population. Expectation is to work occasional Saturday & Sunday and fill in from 8AM-4:30PM in outpatient clinic. On-call may be a requirement!

Compensation starts at $84/hour.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

Managing participant’s overall care

Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, HIV, Seizures, infections, and injuries

Prescribing medications and other treatments such as wound care or ectoparasite treatment

Educating participants on disease prevention and positive health and lifestyle choices

Review of all Health Assessments and determination of further treatment needed if applicable

To the extent the County requests, the Advanced Level Practitioner can order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Nevada Nurse Practitioner unrestricted license

Two years of current experience in a primary care, ER or Urgent care setting

Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
