As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.

JOB SUMMARY

This Position assumes a key role by being the front line SPX customer facing representation assisting our

customers on sites throughout the UK at every stage including new installations, warranty work, planned

maintenance and inspection work. In addition to these activities a service technician will be required to

support growth of the SPX Cooling Technologies business by showing best in class work ethics and being

customer focused. He or she must be willing to travel and due to the nature of the business overtime and weekend working will be required on occasion.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Servicing and installation of new and existing factory assembled cooling equipment

• To take part in inter-departmental training programs.

• To carry out warranty repairs on cooling equipment and assist with commissioning.

• Effectively utilize the SPX Leadership standards to create a positive working environment that

mobilises people to achieve and exceed business objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to work unsupervised and under own initiative.

• Ability to effectively supervise and communicate with sub-contractors and internal staff at various locations.

• Ability to work in confined spaces and at height.

• Ability to perform site relevant manual handling

• Experience with the SPX Marley product range

• Overtime and flexibility may be required along with unplanned schedule changes at short notice

• May have to travel anywhere within or outside of the UK on a scheduled and/or ad hoc basis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Hold full driving license

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Team player

• Drive, enthusiasm and a determination to succeed with a “Can Do” attitude

• Highly organized with excellent time management skills

• Adaptable and flexible attitude

• Self-motivator

• Able to make correct and informed decisions and take responsibility for them

• Must have the ability to work alone, yet still a team member
