Are you ready to drive transformative HR strategies in one of the most dynamic regions of Maersk? Join us as an People Business Partner (PBP) UAE Area and lead in formulating Business /Functional People strategies, specifically tailored to the unique needs of the UAE Area. As a strategic partner to the business, you'll collaborate with top-tier leadership to propel our organization forward, ensuring alignment with the overall Maersk People strategy and the Maersk Integrator Strategy. Your role will be instrumental in strategic people planning, fostering engagement, driving performance, and nurturing high-performing teams across the UAE Area.

Area People Business Partner UAE Area (UAE, Oman and Qatar) is a member of the both the UAE Area Leadership Team and IMEA region People Leadership Team and plays a pivotal role in leading the People strategy enabling the growth strategy of the area in line with the Maersk integrator vision.

This position reports to the Head of People Function – IMEA (Indian subcontinent Middle East - Africa) The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic partnership to UAE Area Managing Director and the UAE Leadership Team and anchor the People strategy ensuring implementation along with the CoEs and the People Partnering Organization. This role is truly a unique opportunity to take on a very impactful role. The ideal candidate has long standing experience as a strategic HR business partner and a proven track record of building an impactful people strategy that would result to material business outcomes in line with the strategic direction of the business entity. The candidate is widely recognized as strategic partner and advisor and demonstrates learning agility and ability to make an impact at executive levels as well as across diversified business environments and cultures.

Key responsibilities:

Actively contribute to the UAE Area business strategy and translate them to people and organization strategies.

With the leadership teams, co-own the area business strategy and enable the business making results which entail an exponential growth in the next 5 years.

Identify and close capability and competency gaps, culture enhancement, workforce planning, etc in close partnership with CoEs and People Partnering organization.

Act as sparring partner and courageous coach to the UAE Area MD, senior leaders, site managers … helping them to develop and lead more impactfully. Drive the succession planning of key positions and long-term talent development in the respective teams.

Partner with the senior leaders and People partner to build an engaging working environment across the function.

Support senior leaders through strategic parts of annual HR cycle and partner with People Partners and deployment teams on support needed for annual HR cycle implementation across the area.

Spear-head Emiratization strategy and drive ongoing agenda

Foster a culture where the Maersk behaviors and values are embedded and on which business decisions are made.

Where relevant, drive Employee Relations agenda, ensuring right partnering with all concerned stakeholders ensuring we meet alignment with the relevant labour laws per country within scope.

Support leaders in building high performing teams that are prepared for the future needs of the organization, promoting a high-performance culture and addressing performance improvement needs within their teams.

In coordination with Rewards Partner and People experience rewards team, ensures our Rewards packages and structures are competitive and reflect the market, especially for certain segments of the skilled workforce (top talents, critical roles, hot skills/jobs, hot markets and niche skills).

Drive the succession planning of key positions and long-term talent development in the Area/functions and develop strong HR talent through direct and indirect leadership and role modelling.

Ensuring HR support to our leaders and colleagues is seamless and experience centric through close partnership at all levels with our colleagues in the People Partnering Organisation

Proactively drive a culture of collaboration and sharing across the IMEA People Function community ensuring alignment across, working as well with CoEs to prioritize and develop Maersk’s future HR policies and processes based on short-and long-term business needs.

Foster a culture of leadership excellence through mentorship and role modelling, ensuring alignment with Maersk's purpose, values and vision.

Who we are looking for:

A minimum of 12+ years’ experience in a strategic, senior HR Leadership or Business partnering positions within a regional organization.

Excellence in influencing senior stakeholders, conceptualizing, and shaping strategies, challenging perceptions, and expanding points of view while acting as the trusted advisor and courageous advocate.

Strong understanding of all HR processes and interconnection. Experience in the transport and logistic industry is desired but not essential.

Financial and business understanding and acumen to challenge senior leaders on the functional performance.

Change agility, resilience and maturity in dealing with change/uncertainty and delivering results in challenging environments.

Senior stakeholder management and ability to influence and collaborate cross functionally and in a matrix organization.

Knowledge and Experience with Labor Laws and Relations in the UAE, Oman and Qatar.

Ability to inspire and energize others by facilitating special workshops and sessions with senior leaders depending on the organization needs, such as, team building, talent discussion, succession, and strategy planning, etc.
