Royce Investment Partners, an affiliate of Franklin Templeton, is hiring a VBA/SQL Programmer. In this position, you will work on a small team which maintains and supports in-house software used by portfolio managers, traders, and others at the firm. You will also do support for and code interfaces to our order management system.

Job Summary: This VBA/SQL Programmer position is responsible for developing and maintaining VBA/SQL scripts and applications to automate tasks and enhance efficiency within various departments. The position also involves supporting the daily activities of the portfolio managers and trading desk.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop interfaces to custodian banks for data transmission and reconciliation

Field requests from portfolio managers and traders for enhancements and fixes

Provide phone and email support to equity trading desk using Charles River

Maintain our in-house accounting software

Support monthly and quarterly reporting cycles

Monitor alerts on daily automated batch jobs and respond to issues

Create documentation to accompany assigned software projects

Ideal Qualifications and Skills Desired:

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

1-3 years’ experience in a technology role

Experience in VBA and strong grasp of SQL preferred; must have some prior programming or coding experience

Proficiency in some of the other technologies mentioned in the previous section desired

Ability to pick up new programming languages quickly

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment with other programmers

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to read and write in a professional manner and interact with senior leaders

Ability to work out of our New York City office in Midtown with 3 days in the office per week (hybrid, partially remote)

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Royce Investment Partners, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the base salary for this position to range between $85,000 - $105,000 per year. Actual salary offered will depend on the candidate’s experience level and skill set.
