What You Will Do:

Our professionals help our clients in the Federal Chief Financial Officer community transform business processes, enhance the efficiency of operations, improve transparency and performance management, promote change management, and comply with Federal laws and regulations. We empower our clients to identify, evaluate, and solve some of their most complex challenges, and assist them in achieving their strategic goals and objectives to fulfill their mission. The nature of our projects is extremely fluid and requires self-motivated individuals who are willing to develop solutions on their own or in a team of highly skilled professionals. Project members are provided the opportunity to interact with our client’s senior management, as well as the opportunity to enhance their skills around technical competency, business development, client service, and people development. Our team provides specialized experience and knowledge in financial management, process analysis and documentation, data analytics, and automation to support project activities.

This role will support clients within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with opportunities to expand support to other defense and security-related organizations. Specific initiatives and work products that this role supports include:

Lead documentation and communication efforts for clients which includes the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), user guides, one-pagers, and a variety of strategic communications to help the client and their organization achieve its mission and goals. Oftentimes the documents created are to document financial processes executed using low-no/no-code technology applications.

Coordinate with process stakeholders to conduct current-state assessments, review relevant documentation related to a process, and iteratively submit developed documentation to process stakeholders for review and feedback to create a final product that correctly documents a process.

Maintain frequent engagement with process stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of a process are being captured for SOPs or process related documentation and to confirm that the intended message is being conveyed for strategic-related communications or documentation.

Organize, track, and store developed documentation in designated repositories so that they can easily be accessed by the necessary stakeholders.

Assist in creation of project plans to support the execution of documentation efforts and ensure that realistic timelines are set, communicated, and followed through barring any significant holdups.

Communicate project task updates to senior-level executive clients on a regular basis and confirm shared understanding.

Support writing efforts and provide quality reviews of documentation and training material for technical solutions to ensure that they are professional and client ready.

What You Will Need:

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Bachelor’s degree

Desire and ability to quickly strengthen skills in developing process documentation, communications, and other strategic documents and being able to apply and tailor those skills to the specific needs of the client and the mission of their organization.

Heightened attention to detail, and the ability to create and edit technical and non-technical written work products and graphical presentations.

Ability to synthesize information quickly and learn new skills, view and assess problems and areas for improvement, produce professional and client-ready documentation, and lead client-facing discussions and meetings.

Ability to work in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to utilize project management best practices within an organization to produce high quality deliverables in a timely manner.

Ability to commute to client or corporate offices within the Washington, DC metropolitan area 2-3 days per week.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Prior experience documenting and evaluating business processes and producing a variety of communications from informal email interactions with clients to formal strategic planning documents, user guides, issue papers, presentations, executive briefings, and others.

Basic understanding of workflow, automation, and data-analytics based technology platforms and their general use cases, including Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Power BI, Tableau, and Databricks.

Understanding and demonstrated willingness to learn Agile project delivery methods, tools, and concepts.

General understanding of financial management aspects (i.e., financial operations, financial innovation, internal control, risk management, etc.), particularly in a federal environment.

Experience with:

Planning and leading client meetings and presenting recommendations to senior-level leadership.

Leading multiple tasks simultaneously.

Applying a variety of analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills and techniques.

Conducting research to investigate client problems and working collaboratively with a team to formulate and recommend solutions.
