Medical Assistant - Podiatry with Wound Care Experience

Job Description

Medical Assistants with Wound Care experience needed for a Medical Facility in Beverly Hills, California.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.

$25.00 per hour; Contract to hire.

Job Duties:

Greet Patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds, and record in the medical record.

Assist with tracking and monitoring department-specific data.

Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice.

Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs.

Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines.

Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider.

Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as provided by director.

Required Qualifications:

Medical Assistance Certificate/Diploma from a DAIPIP-accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.

Experience with wound care and casting.

Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by preforming preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries.

1 year working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting.

Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture.

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ Years working as a MA in pediatrics.

Experience with CS-Link/Epic.

Experience with Quest Diagnostic Laboratory Submissions.

Phlebotomy certification.

Understanding of medical terminology.

Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans.

Experience with Autoclave sterilization.
