TITLE: Manager, Data Engineering

DUTIES: Leads a team of Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Governance Specialists and will be responsible for management of the Enterprise Data Analytics system built on Microsoft Azure Cloud, including design, development and maintenance of the data platforms, solutions architecture, and delivery. Works collaboratively with business stakeholders as well as Application and Infrastructure Managers across multiple disciplines to define and execute a strategy for delivering sustainable and cost effective business solutions, while setting and maintaining priorities to staff and management. Builds common strategic framework that supports the overall business analytics requirements for the company, and helps prioritize these requests and help execute the vision. Works with business stakeholders to qualify and quantify demand for solutions and services driven by data analytics. Identifies and validates requirements for technology initiatives. Leads the strategic vision and develops plans for optimized allocation of technologies, processes, and resources. Delegates work, scheduling, staffing, and performance management of team members to ensure alignment of objectives, behaviors, and results consistent with business and IT expectations. Assists senior IT and business management in developing, executing, and communicating IT-business vision, mission, and goals. Manages technical support personnel in a 24X7 environment. Ensures that requests and issues are escalated appropriately for visibility, managed, tracked, and resolved with a sense of urgency to the satisfaction of stakeholders. Manages internal and external resources and expenses against approved budgets and identifies and implements initiatives for cost containment and profit improvement. Coaches, mentors, and trains resources in applicable skills, processes, and technologies. Acts as a leader of the IT organization and partner across the management organization to drive desired outcomes. At least 1 day in office, 4 days remote work allowed.

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, and six (6) years of experience as a Data Operations Manager, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, Project Manager, Programmer Analyst, Software Engineer, or related role. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, and eight (8) years of experience as a Data Operations Manager, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, Project Manager, Programmer Analyst, Software Engineer, or related role. Must also have five (5) years’ experience with: Structured systems and data analysis; Relational database design, including normalized and dimensional; Data warehouse and data lake design concepts; and ETL tools, including Informatica. Three (3) years’ experience with: DevOps structure; Cloud based data solutions, including Microsoft Azure; Data governance tools, including Informatica; SQL, Python; Cloud data warehouses, including Snowflake; and Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
