Job Title: Dishwasher

Reports to: Sous Chef

FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt
General Summary: The Dishwasher is responsible for removing soiled plates and flatware from tables, washing them thoroughly, and resetting tables in preparation for the next party. They will also restock items, unload delivery trucks, help prepare cook stations, clean kitchen appliances and equipment, empty and clean trash receptacles, and other duties as needed.
Essential Functions:
Ensure the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas
Prepare dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations
Clean equipment and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc
Unload and appropriately store deliveries
Sweep and mop floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled
Take out the trash and clean/rinse garbage cans
Support other kitchen staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed
Report accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standardsCompetencies:

Must have the ability to communicate and understand instructions clearly and effectively
Follow all state and local health and food safety regulations
Follow all safety procedures for operating and cleaning machinery
Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situationsRequirements
Education/Experience:
High school degree or equivalent
Similar work experience a plus
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Exceptional time management skills
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

Environment: This position operates in a fast-paced indoor environment. Climate will be hot, humid, and somewhat noisy at times.
Physical: The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, reach with hands and arms, stoop, or kneel. The employee must push, pull, lift, balance, and carry both unilaterally and bilaterally, up to 50 pounds in repetitive motions. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
