Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Heavy Civil Estimator to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in estimating large-scale heavy civil construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of construction methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver accurate and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead.

Project Analysis: Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid proposals.

Cost Management: Develop and manage cost databases, ensuring up-to-date pricing information for materials, labor, and equipment.

Risk Assessment: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure accurate cost projections.

Bid Strategy: Develop and implement bid strategies, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing.

Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and cost considerations.

Vendor Management: Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure compliance with project requirements.

Documentation: Prepare and present detailed estimate reports and supporting documentation for review by senior management and clients.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, advancements in construction technology, and best practices in estimating to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, with a proven track record of successful project bids. Preferably experience in but not limited to: Clearing, Grading, Wet Utilities, Asphalt and Concrete.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (such as HCSS, Bid2Win, Plan Swift, Blue Beam, Agtek or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with construction project management software is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Environment: On location or satellite with occasional site visits to gather information and assess project conditions.

Travel: Limited travel may be required to attend meetings, visit job sites, and engage with clients.
