Qualification
University Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, IT/IS or similarRequirements
10 Years experience managing and/or directing an IT/IS operation
Experience in the application of IT/IS and business systems to deliver business operations value
Maximise efficiency and execution of IT operations and projects, including maintenance, and continuous improvement of IT/IS for both South African and Global operations
Advance level of business applications exposure, which include Microsoft, ERP (JD Edwards), ECM (OnBase) and BI (QlikSense)Duties
Business Systems
Develop, document, execute and review strategic plan for Business Systems
Identify and monitor the interdependence of strategic initiatives and their impact on value delivery and risk
Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define systems requirements for new technology implementations
Monitor and assess current and future technologies and provide advice on costs, risks and opportunities
Business Consulting
Documents are compiled according to departmental standards
Act as an advocate for the organizations technology vision via regular communications with the organizations executives, department
heads, and end users
Identify, define and recommend process and system improvements
Develop and provide ongoing process and systems training and guidance to operations management
Financial Management
Develop, track and control the department annual operating and capital budget
Align all Capex to strategy and operational requirements
Reconcile cost variances to circumstance
Approve discretionary additional funding where appropriate
Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives.
Corporate Governance
Meet all regulatory and compliance measures within guidelines and maintain risk profile within agreed parameters
Define and communicate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating technology
systems
Maintain IT governance framework that maximises value for the enterprise
Assess and communicate risks associated with information technology investments respond to appropriate levels of management
People Management
Plan, select, develop and maintain workforce capabilities for the function as required by the operation
Ensure compliance to company HR policies for department
Develop contingency plans to ensure organisational sustainability
