Neurosurgery Coder

LaSalle Network has partnered with a leading healthcare provider in their search for a Neurosurgery Coder. As a Neurosurgery Coder, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding of neurosurgical procedures and services. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of recent experience in neurosurgery facility and professional fee coding. AHIMA credentials such as RHIT, RHIA or CCS are preferred. Neurosurgery Coder Responsibilities:

Assign accurate CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS codes for neurosurgery procedures performed in both facility and professional fee settings

Review medical records and documentation to ensure coding compliance with regulatory guidelines and payer requirements

Work closely with neurosurgeons, clinical staff and billing teams to clarify documentation and resolve coding-related issues

Stay informed about updates and changes to coding guidelines, regulations and reimbursement policies related to neurosurgery coding

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize coding accuracy, revenue integrity and compliance

Participate in coding audits, compliance reviews and quality improvement initiatives as needed

Maintain productivity and quality standards while adhering to established coding protocols and deadlines

Neurosurgery Coder Requirements:

AHIMA credentials preferred: RHIT, RHIA or CCS

4+ years of recent experience in neurosurgery facility and professional fee coding

Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding systems and guidelines

Familiarity with neurosurgical procedures, terminology and documentation requirements

Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail

Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and protecting patient health information
