Chicago Meat Authority (CMA) is proud to have celebrated 32 years in the food industry. Located in Chicago’s historic Stockyards, CMA is a forward thinking processor of value added beef, pork, and poultry items with a strong focus on selling the Healthcare, Hotel, and Institutional Markets (HRI), meat purveyors, and Multi-unit regional and national chains up to and including big box stores. In addition, CMA specializes in custom cuts for further processors including but not limited to grinding operations, deli manufacturers, and the prepared entrée market.

CMA is seeking Standup Forklift Drivers for our meat processing facility. Individuals must be willing to work in a cold environment.

What You Get To Do

Use standup forklift move pallets to various locations. Locations include freezer room, cooler room, dry storage room, production room and/or shipping docks for loading and unloading.

Using the process of first in first out (FIFO).

Make sure bill of lading (BOL) matches to product received, must verify for accuracy.

Reading fill rates (product being shipped).

Depending on location, it may require reading the fresh meat report to identify correct product.

Use the RF scanner to scan product.

Fill out verification documents for S&H.

Reconcile written paperwork with generated labels to ensure accuracy and balance.

Maintain area organized and clear of path ways.

Complete inventory as scheduled.

Re-palletize as needed.

Identify broken pallets/boxes and repot to supervisor.

Adhere to safe work practices, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. What We Want From You

Required one year recent standup forklift experience.

Required to work overtime (including Saturdays).

Perform all duties as required by supervisor.

Follow CMA policies and procedures.

Required to work in a freezer (below 0 degree temperature).

Required to wear all personal protective equipment.

Ability to think ahead and prepare to for future orders.

Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and push up to 80 pounds depending on specific function being performed.

Ability to work with cold materials in a cold, humid environment.

Ability to crouch and bend repeatedly.

Meat processing and/or refrigerated manufacturing experience preferred.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Follow all safety regulations and support others in working safely. What We Value
