Overview

TRC creates and implements sophisticated and innovative solutions to the challenges facing America's energy markets and infrastructure. A national energy and environmental services organization, TRC provides its services to America's major industries, utilities, banks, insurance companies and federal, state, and local government agencies.

TRC is seeking a Sales Strategy Manager to oversee and manage all sales and outreach for a commercial and multifamily energy efficiency program serving Oregon and Southwest Washington. Through the program, we deliver technical assistance and cash incentives to customers in commercial facilities and buildings to help make electric and natural gas energy efficiency upgrades possible.

The direct efforts of the manager will result in the group's efficient and effective direct engagement with commercial and multifamily customers and contractors to achieve savings and incentive goals. This position leads the group responsible for identifying and engaging potential program participants. This position is also responsible for encouraging them to complete projects that support energy savings goals, retaining and recruiting contractors, and leading distinct offers. This individual will work closely with the marketing, engineering, and data teams to develop and execute strategic focus on specific market sectors, geographic regions, and traditionally under-served communities.

We seek a Sales Strategy Manager who will actively engage, with team support, to design and implement engagement strategies that are culturally responsive and respectful of diverse perspectives. This includes understanding the unique needs and preferences of diverse communities, leveraging cultural assets, and employing inclusive communication approaches to ensure meaningful participation.

Responsibilities

Essential functions include:

Oversight for customer engagement from lead generation to project end

Oversight of outreach to contractors and partners

Ensure that leads are tracked and cultivated, and energy efficiency studies and projects are managed to completion

Examine existing processes and systems, identifying gaps and needs for improvement

Build and maintain strategic partnerships with a wide range of internal program partners to pursue strategic engagement of specific rural, underserved, and other priority communities as designated by our client.

Design outreach plans for a variety of programs targeting specific audiences (small business, lighting, multifamily, etc.)

Collaborate with the marketing team to create and support marketing strategies (targeting high potential prospects and priority communities).

Work with the marketing team to develop materials, identify industry segments or equipment with greatest energy savings potential or need, utilize data mining and analysis to target key customers, and provide the team with data-driven instruction and direction while informing management with data-informed results.

Build and maintain strategic partnerships with a wide range of external partners (Community Based Organizations, government agencies, distributors, etc.) to ensure delivery of client programs to intended participants.

Participate in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Management Team directives and support implementation of AEI (Anti Racism, Equity & Inclusion) practices and team building across departments.

Create and implement an outreach plan for traditionally underserved communities based on a needs assessment, measures of success and identified requirements for each community. Qualifications

Requirements:

Minimum 4+ years of sales experience

Minimum 4+ years of project management experience

Minimum 3+ years of personnel management experience

Self-driven leader with proven ability to motivate a team, especially a team that is often in the field and covers a large geographic area and multilingual customer base

Strong customer service skills to include highly effective communication in person, over email, and over the phone

A team player, able to leverage their team's experience and market conditions to make informed decisions

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage people in remote work environments

A collaborator willing to work with other team leads (e.g., engineering, marketing, operations), respecting the distinct roles each team has while effectively communicating business development needs

Demonstrated ability to use data analytics to reach target markets

Excellent time management skills including the ability to run effective and efficient meetings

Excellent project management skills and ability to streamline processes and methodologies

Experience developing and/or applying management skills, including workplans, expectation setting, coaching, etc.

Ability to learn and use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or a similar system to effectively track business development activities

Proficiency with computer and mobile technology devices

Ability to develop, introduce and monitor performance metrics to support program goals

Proficient knowledge of MS Office tools i.e., Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, and SharePoint

Demonstrated experience in outreach to communities that are not engaged through traditional mainstream outreach Desired Skills:

PMP certification or MBA

Previous experience with energy efficiency industry or technologies

Experience with utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs

Experience and/or understanding of electric utility rates

Experience and/or existing commercial customer, contractor and vendor relationships within Oregon and SW Washington

Understanding of electrical energy efficiency calculation and terminology

Understanding of electrical energy efficiency core technology areas such as HVAC, lighting, motors, and controls

Experience developing effective communication techniques in multi-lingual communities and environments. Our Mission

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range
