The Primary Goal of the Marketing Coordinator position is to support the Marketing Department in promoting PDA’s brand and offerings including conferences, events, publications, reports and membership. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for executing marketing communications using multiple communication channels and via marketing technology systems, that reflect the characteristics of the PDA brand and communicate the value of PDA and its offerings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work closely with design and production staff and contractors to facilitate production of materials, from conception to publication.

Work with subject matter experts, PDA staff and others to gather information for clear and relevant drafting of communications. This includes speaking directly with members, Chairs, authors, etc. to gather the appropriate information.

Track and report on marketing and communication performance to include reviewing campaign and similar reports.

Maintain schedules and calendars for campaigns and initiatives.

Participate in and execute campaigns representing PDA’s offerings in coordination with the rest of the marketing team (including the Vice President, Marketing Services and Manager, Marketing Services).

Seek ways to improve responses to messages and leverage integrated communications channels to maximize effectiveness.

Work with outside designers, print shops and mail houses to develop and mail promotional materials (requests quotes, manage budget, develop production schedule).

Manage and support PDA’s social media posting and channels.

Works with web team to improve PDA website appearance, usability and functionality for PDA.

With the web developer, manage updates to the PDA home page, including overseeing development of new sliders and updated information to the “What’s New” section.

Support special projects as required.

Other duties may be assigned or changed based on the need of the department.

Additional Responsibilities include:

This position also requires the following relationships with the PDA membership, external organizations and other PDA staff:

Membership: Direct interaction with PDA members required during major PDA events and other activities, mostly with the context of obtaining marketing research that enhances promotional efforts.

Other Organizations: May interact with collaborating/partnering organizations in joint – promotional campaigns as required.

Other PDA Staff: Works extensively in an independent, cross – organizational mode. Must possess effective communication skills for building consensus and implementing change.

Education/Experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Ability to demonstrate experience and results in print and electronic marketing communications in a fast, high-volume atmosphere. Ability to analyze and interpret marketing and sales data. Ability to create and test new approaches for promoting products, services and the Association.

A BS/BA degree in Marketing, Communications or a related area is required or equivalent work experience and education.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency with basic office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat. Some knowledge of HTML is desired.

The Marketing Coordinator is a savvy marketer and communicator who understands how to use print and electronic mediums in a way that enables PDA to meet its marketing and communication objectives. The Coordinator is a dynamic marketer and communicator who thrives in a fast – paced, high volume environment and is a professional who works collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals to create and manage cross- organizational, integrated marketing strategies. The Coordinator will assist with facilitating the development of promotional concepts, copy for both web and print, and package designs based on analysis of marketing, sales, and competitive data.

Keys to the success of this position are: organization, flexibility, diplomacy, and the ability to work independently and concurrently with a number of internal clients. This position will also be responsible for statistical reporting on electronic efforts when available.

Special Requirements:

Policy Formulation: Works with department manager and others in the development of organizational marketing communication processes and brand/image guidelines.

Planning: Responsible for maintaining and communicating organizational marketing communication schedules. Assists in the development of organizational marketing strategies and product development. Seeks opportunities to create cross-divisional marketing opportunities that reduce costs and increase overall sales.

Decision Authority: Responsible for day-to-day management of organizational marketing communications process, including close relationships with production teams, vendors, product managers and other marketers.

Budgetary Responsibility: Responsible for the development and management of related outsourced services and assists in the development of marketing promotional expense budgets. Track expenses and revenue budgets for key product lines for which this position is responsible for promoting.
