SUMMARY

Mitsubishi Power Americas is a major power generation equipment and storage solutions provider for the energy industry. As a Project Logistics Specialist – Import & Export Operations, you are responsible for coordinating project logistics import & export transport and customs operations; managing on-time, safe and quality deliveries; and managing logistics service provider operational relationships. Main project logistics focus for this individual is coordination of import & export transport and customs operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for project logistics operational excellence for international transport operations to meet customer deliverables, with a focus on coordinating import, export & customs operations.

Coordinate international transports and shipping documentation with internal and external counterparts to ensure completeness and timely processing.

Manage broker pre-clearance requests, provide pre-clearance instructions and ensure timely entry clearance processing. Issue shipper’s letter of instructions.

Classify products according to Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS), including gathering product information and maintaining product databases aligned with corporate trade compliance.

Perform post-entry reviews, identify and implement corrective actions aligned with corporate trade compliance.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, project managers, and external partners to understand project requirements, timelines, and resource constraints. Provide logistics expertise and guidance to support project planning and execution.

Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with project deliveries.

Identify and implement opportunities that improve project logistics performance and reduce total cost of ownership.

Establish and track project-specific goals, metrics, and trends to ensure project executes withing established Project Management controls.

Develop and manage operational relationships with ocean Carriers, Brokers, Freight Forwarders, 3PLs and 4PLs to ensure effectiveness of operational activities and ensuring strategic operational execution initiatives are aligned with logistics service providers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university; and five (5) years of project logistics experience managing import, export and customs operations, preferably as a licensed customs broker or, ten (10) years of project logistics import and export experience. Preference for licensed customs broker.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as budgets, estimates to completion and comparisons to as-sold amounts.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to identify, analyze and mitigate risk, including making recommendations to management.

Data Skills: Ability to process large amounts of data and make decision based on such data.

Management & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate job task, goals and projects to project management and supply chain management staff well as manage and delegate when necessary. Self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in an international, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.

Technical and Commercial expertise in international transportation modes, import, export and customs operations.

Candidates with an extensive network of contacts within Project Logistics Service Providers incl. Carriers, Brokers, 3PLs, 4PLs, freight forwarders, etc. will be preferable.

Travel up to 10%.
