My client, a regional law firm is dedicated to shaping the future of local cities by guiding their clients through the complexities of land use, environmental, real estate, and zoning laws. As they continue to expand, they are looking for a passionate and experienced Land Use and Zoning Attorney to contirbute to their successful team. Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.

This role offers the unique opportunity to work on high-profile projects that shape the urban landscape, collaborating with developers, municipalities, and local community members to create sustainable and vibrant communities!

Key Responsibilities:

Advise clients on all aspects of land use and zoning law, including permitting, variances, rezoning, and compliance.

Represent clients in hearings before zoning boards, planning commissions, and other regulatory agencies.

Draft and review legal documents such as development agreements, zoning ordinances, and comprehensive plans.

Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support client projects and litigation.

Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and environmental consultants to ensure holistic project development.

Stay current with changes in land use laws, regulations, and case law to provide the most effective legal counsel.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Licensed to practice and in good standing in Virginia.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in land use and zoning law.

Strong understanding of local, state, and federal land use regulations.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Passion for urban development and community planning.
