Assistive Technology Facilitator

Position: 10 month, Full time or Part time Option

Reports to: Coordinator of Specialized Programs, EC Director

Pay scale: according to classified pay scale

Qualifications

Minimum: preferred, Associate or Bachelor's Degree.

Experience working with technology used by students and staff including iPADs, Laptops, Chromebooks, etc.

Knowledge or background in additional technology such as basic switches, and communication devices is helpful.

Experience with inventory management and asset management.

Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with students, parents, educators, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Assists licensed staff members in providing AT/AAC to students needing additional support.

Collaborates with staff and parents to improve the quality of student outcomes, and develop access solutions for the classroom setting.

Maintains AT/AAC equipment/software loan inventory systems.

Keeps AT/AAC equipment clean, organized, and appropriately stored.

Troubleshoots AT/AAC equipment/software as needed.

Works collaboratively with the IT department to manage equipment used by staff and students.

Has the ability to move or lift materials and equipment on occasion - physical work

Assists with training and inservices including setting up equipment for demonstration.

Utilizes web-based applications to download, and edit digital pictures and import them into communication devices.

Attends and participates in meetings where AT/AAC will be discussed.

Monitors and assists in evaluating student AT/AAC use and progress.

Effectively communicates over the phone, in writing, and in person with staff, parents, and students.

Respect and maintain confidential information in all situations.

Accurately manages and maintains files, records, correspondence, reports, etc. under Special Education Guidelines.
