The Marketed Revenue Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the revenue booking, royalty distribution, and other related accounting processes.
A successful candidate will have the ability to lead a team of revenue accountants, prioritize activities within their functional area, prepare and deliver meaningful financial information and analysis, and manage complex projects.
Essential Responsibilities/Duties: * Lead, coordinate, and execute revenue accounting close responsibilities.
* Prepare and deliver meaningful financial information, performance metrics, analyses, and reports within functional area.
* Perform or oversee special analyses, non-recurring transactions, and manage complex projects as necessary.
* Prepare and/or review account reconciliations.
* Provide training and development within area of responsibility.
* Apply proficient accounting and finance principles and understand financial statement impacts.
* Respond to audit requests and assist with the coordination of audit activities.
* Identify, recommend, and implement best practices and improvements to processes within functional area.
* Lead and/or participate in department or cross functional projects/initiatives.
* Lead and/or assist in owner relations inquiries.
* Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; model and promote company culture and values.
* Maintains and fosters a high level of vigilance and awareness for cyber security risks.
* Other duties as assigned.
Computer/Software Applications: * Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
* Working knowledge of SAP PRA and FICO modules, Microsoft Power BI and Alteryx.
Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills: * Demonstrates a strong work ethic, is a team player, and applies critical thinking with an attention to detail.
* General to advance understanding of industry revenue standards and practices.
* Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to identify and mitigate risk to ensure effective internal control structure.
* Provide functional support as a power user or data steward for systems including, but not limited to, Company data cubes, PRA, Power BI, and Alteryx.
* Ability to work independently and provide guidance to others on complex revenue accounting matters.
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a primarily remote work environment.
Experience/Education: * Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study.
Master's degree in accounting or related field of study a plus.
* Minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience required (10+ years in lieu of education). Oil and gas accounting experience preferred.
* CPA preferred; APA, CIA, CFE, CGMA or other relevant professional credentials and certifications a plus.
Location/Work Schedule: Denver - Hybrid with ability to commute to the Denver office on short notice and as needed to support business and team requirements.
