Salary: $60,000 - 100,000/year

The Professional Land Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing and conducting land surveying activities for state highway administration projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in highway surveying, strong technical skills, and the ability to lead a survey team.

Key Responsibilities:

Survey Project Management: Manage and oversee all aspects of land surveying projects for state highway administration, including planning, execution, and completion.

Field Surveys: Conduct field surveys to collect accurate data for highway design, construction, and maintenance projects. Utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques.

Data Analysis: Analyze survey data to produce detailed maps, plats, and legal descriptions. Ensure data accuracy and compliance with state highway administration standards.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure survey data meets project requirements and timelines.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all survey activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as state highway administration guidelines.

Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of survey data. Review and verify the work of survey technicians and other team members.

Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive survey records, including field notes, reports, and project documentation.

Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or questions.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Licensure:

Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.

Additional certifications related to highway surveying are a plus.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Professional Land Surveyor.

Proven experience working on state highway administration projects.

Skills:

Proficiency in surveying software and equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, and AutoCAD.

Strong knowledge of state highway administration standards and procedures.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
