BRAKE PRESS OPERATOR-GASTONIA

PAY: $18-$20.00

Shift: 1st shift

JOB OVERVIEW:

The press operator is responsible for handling press operations for the manufacturing division of the organization. The operator uses an electrically powered industrial machine to create, shape, and customize metal materials.Essential Functions

Perform typical press operations to produce materials according to specifications and on schedule.

Inspect the materials produced for quality and conformity; correct any inconsistencies.

Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required.Preferred Education and Experience

1. Exemplary motor skills are required for the position, as brake press machines have multiple settings and levers that must be adjusted for each job and quickly manipulated through the steps of creating finished products.

2. Good analytical and mathematical skills to interpret drawings, templates, and blueprints.

3. Must be able to read gauges, tape measure, and other measurement tools.

4. Manufacturing-related experience in a brake press environment is a plus.
