DevOps Engineer– Job Description

Key responsibilities

Outline and create application architectures for re-platform or re-architect strategies and implement proposals and patterns for common application architectures.

Propose and design solutions to meet the technical performance, scalability, flexibility, operations and capability needs

Implement optimizations in the cloud software development life cycle process to provide improvement in productivity, tools and techniques.

Embrace an automation-first approaches to testing, deployment, security and compliance of solutions through Infrastructure as Code and automated policy enforcement.

Empower the adoption of practices to minimize toil and manual work and increase automation and stability.

Collaborate across the different teams and areas such as Cloud Platform, Security, Data, Risk & Compliance areas to create cost effective optimum solutions for the business.

Technical Requirements

Experience with structured Enterprise Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premises-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps

Experience in building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly-distributed global cloud-based systems, and experience in network infrastructure, security, data, and application development

Hands on experience in working with Google Cloud Platform and its services to create and implement cloud-based solutions.

Experience in programming in Java, Python, etc.

Experience in some of the following: Python, Hadoop, Spark, SQL, Big Query, Big Table Cloud Storage, Datastore, Spanner, Cloud SQL, Machine Learning.

Experience with Apache Beam/Google Dataflow/Apache Spark in creating end to end data pipelines.

Hands on knowledge of IaC tool e.g. Terraform.

Experience in implementing data pipelines to automate the ingestion, transformation, and augmentation of data sources, and provide best practices for pipeline operations.

Understanding of modern application landscapes and their dependencies on the infrastructure platform

Certified in Google Professional Data Engineer/ Solution Architect/AWS is a major Advantage
