lKey Responsibilities:
• Design and develop innovative valve solutions for space systems, considering the
unique challenges and requirements of the aerospace environment.
• Conduct analysis and simulations to optimize valve performance, including flow
characteristics, pressure drop, leakage, and reliability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including systems engineers, mechanical
engineers, and fluid systems engineers, to integrate valves into spacecraft and launch
vehicle architectures.
• Define valve specifications, selecting feasible valve types, selecting appropriate
materials, and evaluate suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements and
industry standards.
• Lead or contribute to the valves and related components design, creating component
fabrication drawings and manufacturing documents, development of test plans and
procedures for valve qualification, performance, and environmental testing.
• Perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of valves and related
components, providing technical expertise and guidance to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including design drawings, technical specifications,
test reports, and analysis results.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in valve technology, industry trends, and
emerging standards to drive continuous improvement and innovation in valve design
and performance.
• Support the manufacturing and production teams during valve fabrication, assembly,
and integration, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project milestones, effectively
communicating valve-related concepts, progress, and challenges to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a
related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Valves Engineer, preferably in the
aerospace or space industry.
• Strong knowledge of valve technology, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for valve design and analysis.
• Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element analysis
(FEA) tools.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as NASA standards,
ASME, and ASTM.
• Demonstrated experience in the design and development of valves for space
applications, including cryogenic or high-temperature environments.
• Proven track record of delivering valve solutions on time and within budget.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, teamoriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present
technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and quality assurance in
valve production.
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and integration processes in aerospace
systems.
