Job Description
The Payment / Cash Poster Representative position ensures all daily cash posting, reconciliation, error resolution is completed accurately and timely.
REQUIREMENTS
Must have Hospital CASH POSTER Work experience working in a Hospital as a Cash Poster
Maintains established CBO policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement, HIPAA, UB compliance, applicable statutory compliance, and safety standards.
Processes Daily Cash Posting including posts, balance, and files approved cash posting.
Understanding of cash posting process required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to multitask and maintain a work pace appropriate to workload.
Receives and keys credit card payments on a daily basis, maintaining appropriate copy for documentation.
Resolves unidentified payments daily by identifying the correct account or processing a refund
Processes government payment exceptions resolution:
Tracks DSH, Withholds, Advances for Government Payors.
Research and resolve MediCal (or other) advances/retractions
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Requires minimum of one (1) year of hospital cash posting and/or reconciliation or equivalent of related work experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
Strong customer service skills
Bilingual English/Spanish is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic knowledge of government payor regulations, contracts and adjudication
Advanced analytical skills
Excellent Organizational skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Body Positions: Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
Body Movements: Arm and hand dexterity.
Body Senses: Must have command of close and distant sight, color perception and hearing.
Strength: Ability to lift and move up to 25-pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work in an office, where the climate is controlled
Occasional travel between medical groups and/or hospitals when necessary. 0-25 % of the time.
OSHA exposure category: III
Category I – Position includes tasks that involve exposure to Blood borne Pathogens.
Category II – Position includes tasks that do not have exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens, however employment may require unplanned Category I tasks.
Category III – Positions includes tasks that do not involve exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. This position would not be required to perform Category I tasks
