Position: Senior Legal Secretary

Location: Washington, DC

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire. Fully onsite to start with the ability to transition to a hybrid schedule.

Salary: $65,000-$85,000 based on experience

About the Role:

As a Senior Legal Secretary, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team with a wide range of administrative and secretarial tasks. This position requires a proactive individual with exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.

Prepare, revise, and format legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high degree of accuracy.

Conduct legal research and assist in the preparation of case materials.

Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and easily accessible.

Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail.

Assist with billing and timekeeping activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

Liaise with clients, court personnel, and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.

Perform other administrative duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the legal team.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal secretary, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and legal research databases.

Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document formatting.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.

High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
