Front of House Cashier and Sandwich Maker

Position Overview: We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Front of House Cashier and Sandwich Maker at our small deli/pizzeria restaurant. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our valued customers, providing exceptional service, processing transactions, and crafting delicious sandwiches. Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Cash Handling:

Greet customers with a warm and welcoming demeanor as they enter the restaurant.

Process customer orders accurately and efficiently using our Point of Sale (POS) system.

Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, providing correct change and receipts.

Answer customer inquiries about menu items, specials, and promotions, offering recommendations when needed.

Create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere that encourages repeat business.

Sandwich Making:

Prepare sandwiches, wraps, and other menu items according to customer preferences and specifications.

Assemble ingredients with attention to detail, ensuring each sandwich is presented neatly and appetizingly.

Follow recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistency in quality and taste.

Maintain a clean and organized sandwich station, restocking ingredients as needed.

Cleaning and Sanitization:

Perform cleaning duties to ensure a clean and tidy dining area, including wiping tables and counters, sweeping, and removing trash.

Keep the cashier station clean and organized, ensuring a well-maintained workspace.

Assist with routine cleaning tasks to uphold the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the restaurant.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with fellow team members, including kitchen staff and management, to provide a seamless customer experience.

Communicate customer feedback, suggestions, and concerns to management to continually enhance service quality.

Requirements:

Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, or a similar role is a plus.

Enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive dining experience.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.

Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.

Flexibility to work in various roles within the restaurant, including sandwich making and cleaning tasks.

Food safety and sanitation knowledge or willingness to learn and follow guidelines.

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
