About Byington Winery

The gem of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Byington Vineyard & Winery sits on 95 mountainous acres surrounded by redwood forests with a view of the Monterey Bay. Byington produces award-winning Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and other exciting varietals that highlight the diversity of Northern California.

Established in 1987, the winery is focused on growing and producing premium wines, farmed sustainably using biodynamic growing methods. Our high quality, small production wines come from our Estate vineyards: 8 acres of premium Byington Estate Pinot Noir in the Santa Cruz Mountains and 36 acres of ultra premium Tin Cross Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot from Alexander Valley. We purchase additional varietals from select vineyards for an expansive array of wines.

Summary

The Area Sales Manager, employed by Los Altos Vineyards LLC dba Byington Winery, will market and sell wine related to the Byington and Tin Cross labels. The territory for selling will be on and off-premise in the area designated by management with the intent of creating new accounts in your territory. The position as Sales Manager offers growth opportunities for an individual who can independently execute on tasks relating to our sales operation. This is a full time position with the expectation of a 40 hour work week.

Territories to Include:

San Francisco East Bay Area

Essential Functions

This position will include tasks such as but not limited to:

Efficiency in our ZOHO based CRM and inventory management system

Maintaining a customer database

Sales order creation

Customer invoicing and delivery of goods

Sales event coordination

Generating weekly sales reports to be reported to the General Manager

Assist in prioritizing sales calls

Interfacing with the winery

Review progress towards monthly and yearly sales goals

Submission of monthly expense reports to General Manager

Any additional tasks as needed by the General Manager

Some lifting required. Must be able to lift and carry a case of wine which consists of 12 bottles of wine weighing approximately 40 pounds.

Qualifications

Some sales experience

Experience with web based software tools

Customer service / hospitality / sales experience a must

Ability to work independently in a small team environment

Knowledge of wine and passion for learning more about the product

Familiarity with the customer base in your territory

Compensation

The compensation will consist of a fixed base salary of $50,000 plus a commissioned sales revenue component based on a % of sales. We also offer a health insurance option.Company Description
