SUMMARY

one of our client in the manufacturing sector is looking for Product Sales Manager who has demonstrated success in the Control valves, Actuation, and Instrumentation fields.

Reporting to Director, Sales & Operations the Control Valve & Actuation Product Sales Manager is a team player recognized as a sales expert within the industry. As the Control Valve & Actuation Product Sales Manager you contribute to the organization efforts to effectively build and grow the sales of their Control Valve & Actuation product lines in Western Canada. The ability to create and implement a strategic sales plan is essential. This will include the development of new accounts and generating new business from existing accounts through strategic selling and effectively closing business.

Additionally, as the Control Valve & Actuation Product Sales Manager, you will collaborate with a team of technical sales representatives that are responsible for selling products and/or services to customers. You will provide leadership, training, and direction to assist team members in driving sales. You will also provide guidance to obtain maximum sales revenue and ensure client satisfaction and retention. You train staff, set quotas, and allocate resources to ensure revenue targets are met. You also manage your own clients' accounts and close your own deals. Expertise and experience with control valves, actuation and instrumentation is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and execute sales strategy/plan for Western Canada including prospecting, qualifying, and cultivating new sales leads and enhancing existing account sales.

In coordination with the Leadership Team, coach/train a team of technical sales representatives responsible for selling product and repair.

Developing a full understanding of competition, key personnel, pricing, product range, capabilities, etc.

Provide leadership to obtain maximum sales revenues and attainment of business objectives.

Assist with the implementation and growth of organization’s Control Valve & Actuation Division.

Understand organization sales territories, set quotas, and allocate resources to ensure revenue targets are met.

Through various effective customer centric approaches connect, build trust, and establish meaningful relationships with current and potential customers in Western Canada through face- to-face meetings, joint calls, phone, and TEAMS/Zoom interactions.

Identify opportunities to create new, cross sell and upsell opportunities with customers.

Review and respond to customers' requests i.e. clarification on quotes, purchase order requirements, etc.

Assist, as needed with technical advice for products and/or services, day-to-day operations, sales initiatives such as product presentations, trade show participation, product training, client visits, etc.

WHAT YOU BRING

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Business. An equivalent mix of relevant technical education and extensive related experience may also be considered.

A minimum of 10 years of direct industry experience

Experience, expertise and exposure in selling control valves for various processing applications.

Experience, expertise, and exposure in actuation.

Experience in instrumentation is considered an asset.

Above average numerical skills to understand, interpret and ability to troubleshoot complex engineering problems and commercial aspects of product sales and marketing.

Ability to solve complex practical problems and make independent decisions under minimal supervision.

Ability to lead, teach and mentor less experienced colleagues.

Proven ability to develop and implement new strategies in a competitive business environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop effective working relationships.
