Description:
Our client is a major North American energy company based in Calgary, Alberta - Canada, that develops and operates natural gas pipelines, storage facilities and power-generation plants, with focus on renewable energy sources.
The Land Representative is considered a subject matter expert and is sought out by internally stakeholders for guidance on land rights issues.
Responsibilities:
Identify land requirements and potential issues on capital projects, acquisition or development programs
Provide facilitation in unique land issues, claims, negotiations recognizing precedent-setting impacts
Support and implement the annual integrated public awareness program
Direct and/or advise contract land agents, appraisal experts, consulting foresters and surveyors, contractors involved with property matters and ownership
Ensure data within the land database is current and accurate.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the position or similar
University degree in related discipline
Detailed knowledge of the Canada Energy Regulator
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical and negotiation skills
Knowledge of the methods and techniques for performing Land Services activities
Able to make decisions and use judgment while performing related activities
Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely to prepare reports, specifications, applications, and correspondence
Ablility to interact with all levels of management and to work effectively
