Summary

As a Corporate Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team during mergers, acquisitions, contract signing and other corporate transactions. Your expertise in corporate law, due diligence, and document management will contribute to the success of our organization.

Job Duties

Document drafting and review. Including but not limited to contracts, agreements, and governance documents.

Organizing and maintaining contract files, tracking contract deadlines, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Support the organization with potential merger, acquisition, or preparation for investment opportunities as needed.

Assist with post-closing matters, such as filing required documents with regulatory authorities.

Identify risks, legal issues, and compliance matters.

Drafting and maintaining corporate records.

Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external counsel.

Ensuring corporate compliance with relevant laws and regulations (specifically related to cannabis retail activities etc.)

Assist with any intellectual property matters while liaising with IP lawyers as needed.

Assist with employment law matters as the company continues to grow.

Other administrative support which could include basic invoice management, document control, data management and data reporting utilizing Excel.

Requirements

Paralegal certification along with 3-5 years in a corporate or private practice setting.

Strong proficiency in document management systems and office productivity software (Microsoft 365 etc.).

Experience in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment.

Experience with M&A activities, legal documents, and regulatory filings is an asset.

Superb verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate legal concepts to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
