Warehouse Lead

Job Description

Spee-Dee Delivery is looking for a self-motivated individual who is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in the direction and coordination of the entire warehouse operations.

Hours and Wages:

Monday-Friday, 5:00PM start time

10-15 hours of overtime expected each week

Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week

Starting wage: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitors attendance of warehouse staff for operations productivity

Assigns positions in the warehouse for various shifts

Ensures trailer cuts are made for timely delivery to branches

Communicates with warehouse staff and other management to resolve discrepancies

Manages security of yard and building

Holds weekly meetings to communicate goals and assignments

Disciplines and coaches warehouse staff as needed and records with documentation

Assists stacking and sorting to ensure flow of freight

Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards

Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn

Ability to pass a DOT physical exam

Previous leadership and warehouse operations experience preferred

Must have the skills to lead and motivate a large team

Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50lbs repetitively. Some overhead lifting is required

Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work with a full range of motion with no limits to standing, squatting, stair climbing, overhead lifting, walking, and lifting freight weighing up to 100 pounds

Ability to work with all types of freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
