Mainframe Application Developer

What does a successful Mainframe Application Developer do at Fiserv?

You will help drive the technical roadmap, architecture, design, and solution architecture for Optis, our large-scale Issuer Solutions processing environment. You'll lead the assessment, gap analysis, process improvement, and design of the end-state operating model for the platform. By designing and maintaining reliable platforms, you'll help support mainframe infrastructure, data pipelines, and tools for impactful enterprise applications.

What you will do:

Drive the delivery of complex solutions encompassing multiple products and services by contributing a clear strategy for product integration

Influence senior management of product development on enterprise-level innovation roadmap strategies

Assist product leaders with business guidance, consultative direction, and knowledge development

Develop design specifications, infrastructure diagrams, and other system-related information

Build a detailed level of knowledge on company solutions, products, and services

Develop strong partnerships with development teams, related enterprise and software architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders

Apply analytical skills to address the needs of corporate strategy, understand technology specifics, and understand how different parts of the business operation are connected

What you will need to have:

10+ years of experience in large-scale IT system development, including hands-on experience designing, writing, debugging, and testing code

10+ years of experience in MVS, CICS, COBOL, JCL, and MQ

Experience in a financial services or payments processing environment

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

Experience with the Optis platform or similar platform
