The SharePoint Developer must be able to develop, and maintain SharePoint applications, sites, and workflows, using SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server, and related technologies. Support the ITS department's activities to effectively ensure completion and maintenance of the Chicago Housing Authority's SharePoint applications. This person is also responsible for troubleshooting and resolve SharePoint-related issues, provide technical support, and ensure optimal performance of SharePoint applications. Along with substantial technical acumen, this Individual must also have good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information to audiences of varying technical aptitude.

• Design, develop, and maintain SharePoint applications, sites, and workflows, using SharePoint Online, SharePoint Server, and related technologies.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and end-users to understand requirements and deliver tailored SharePoint solutions.

• Develop custom SharePoint solutions using various development tools and techniques, such as SharePoint Framework (SPFx), JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, REST API, and PowerShell.

• Implement and configure SharePoint features, such as document management, search, content types, metadata, and permissions, to meet business needs.

• Troubleshoot and resolve SharePoint-related issues, provide technical support, and ensure optimal performance of SharePoint applications.

• Develop and implement governance policies, best practices, and guidelines to ensure the proper usage and maintenance of SharePoint environments.

• Conduct regular audits of SharePoint applications, perform necessary updates, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, such as design documents, user guides, and training materials.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest SharePoint technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.

• Provide training and support to end-users, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology preferred, with a minimum of 3 years experience in SharePoint development, with a focus on SharePoint Online and SharePoint Server. Or a Associate degree or equivalent college certificate, or some college courses with a high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years transferrable work experience. Ability to diagnose and correct performance problems. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective Interpersonal skills; ability to maintain good working relationships. Discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information. Proficient in SharePoint Framework (SPFx), JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, REST API, and PowerShell. Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, features, and best practices.

Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and AD Security. Self-motivated and focused, with a positive outlook and excellent organizational skills. Experience working in a project team-oriented environment.

SharePoint certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Developer or Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate are preferred.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000

Grade: S9

FLSA: Exempt
