Position Title Speech & Language Pathologist Location East Elementary School Anticipated Start Date August 28, 2024 Overview This position provides speech and language evaluations, consultation, and direct services to eligible students.

Qualifications ● Master's Degree Preferred ● DESE License of Speech Language and Hearing Disorders (All Levels) Required ● Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist ● American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certification ● Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), Required ● Experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist in a school setting preferred ● Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the areas of child speech and language development ● Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues ● Excellent oral and written communication skills ● Excellent organizational skills ● Provide opportunities for the integration of technology into the classroom.

Responsibilities ● Provide students with intensive instruction in speech, language, communication, and pragmatic language skills as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation.

● Assess students via formal and informal test measures and write formal reports.

● Participate in the development of a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). ● Assist teachers and other special education staff in the development and implementation of curriculum accommodations/modifications and appropriate classroom strategies as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation.

● Create a developmentally appropriate, child-centered environment that establishes positive student behavioral expectations conducive to all learners' needs.

● Provide an equitable and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to all learners and their families.

● Partner with families to create strong two-way communication.

● Maintain appropriate records and provide timely reports.

● Collaborate and communicate with all colleagues to positively contribute to the school culture.

● Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques for students with communication disorders.

● Responsible for other job-related duties as needed.
