We are looking for a skilled Class A CDL Chassis Driver to become part of our team at Integrated Proteins located in Baytown. Your duties will include safely transporting goods using trucks, ensuring vehicle maintenance, accurately completing documentation, and complying with DOT regulations. Please apply with us at our link with Tenstreet: Responsibilities: • Transport materials over land to and from manufacturing plants in a regional area on a scheduled route • Inspect equipment for mechanical and safety issues; perform preventative maintenance • Plan routes and meet delivery schedules • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel and all other receipts • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods, speed limits) as well as in compliance with company policies and procedures • Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions • Collect and verify delivery instructions • Report defects, accidents, or violations in accordance with company policy • Follow all Port of Houston facility requirements • Ensure all containers are secure on the chassis • Verify all appropriate paperwork is in place before leaving the plant and the port locations as needed • All other duties as assigned Qualifications: • 3+ years’ work experience as a Class A truck driver • Ability to drive several hours at a time • Extensive knowledge of applicable DOT compliance, rules, and regulations • No recent moving or driving violations (tickets or accidents) • Clearance through the DOT clearinghouse • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, delays, etc) • Previous experience working with an ELD unit or electronic logs • Active TWIC card • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, walk, reach, squat, push, pull, and climb as needed • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions to secure freight • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Compensation: $27 hourly
