The Role.

You will be a key part of a dynamic account team, helping drive social media strategy and execution for a Fortune 50 client's executive communications. You will work with the internal Civic team and our clients to ensure that the executive communications strategy is being brought to life across social channels to build their reputation and thought leadership. Our client is in the midst of major change, and you'll be driving some of that change in a meaningful and exciting way.

You'll serve as a key client contact as you build a rapport and provide high-level strategic guidance on social. You’ll collaborate with many members of the client’s communications, marketing and product teams to learn about projects where executive social media can be supportive or even become the primary mechanism for helping achieve their communications objectives. You'll partner with the Civic creative and studio teams to develop and execute high-impact ideas. You'll be responsible for establishing and advancing the project plans and ensuring that content and campaigns are delivered at the highest quality, on time and within budget.

As the client’s business and social media evolve rapidly, you will be charged with staying on top of trending topics and social conversations in order to make smart recommendations for spontaneous opportunities. The client will rely on you to provide them with real-time news, valuable insights and creative solutions.

This role will report to the Senior Director, Social Media and support additional projects, new clients and support fellow social media team members during time off.

Specific responsibilities include:

Lead weekly internal/external meetings and action items

Keep the team apprised of business updates, changes, and new work

Work with the Social Community Manager to establish social listening, metric tracking and reports to track social conversations and content performance

Collaborate with the Civic Social Media team and broader CEO Communications team to find opportunities to maximize our impact and support team goals.

Ensure that Civic and the client are aligned on objectives

Identify new business opportunities and communicate them in a compelling way

Flag questions, concerns and ideas to clients as they arise from the team

Craft ideas and write copy for social channels, often on very tight timelines

Constantly monitor the social landscape to discover what’s new, know what competitors are doing, and spot innovations to test

Analyze and distribute reports on social media performance to client team and regularly make recommendations for improvements based on findings

Conceptualize and organize project plans for new work

Collaborate with team to ensure info-sharing and coordination across channels

Support the Senior Director, Social Media in managing the internal team and client to ensure timelines are met

Some travel to attend client meetings and events will be required throughout the year.

Your Profile.

You have enough experience in relevant roles to have developed the skills, wisdom and judgment to handle high-profile, high-stakes communications and social strategy. We think that's 6+ years, but your experience level may vary depending on the kinds of roles you’ve had. We encourage ambitious people to apply. Experience working on account management within an agency for prominent, social-savvy brands or individuals is a plus. Ideally, you also have experience with executive communication strategies on social.

You have experience presenting in team meetings and the confidence to thoughtfully respond to challenging questions from clients. You are tactful.

You are an excellent writer and appreciate the importance of clear and concise language in emails, reports and social content.

You have an eye for compelling visuals. You know what makes a photograph effective and can explain these principles to help others understand your vision for photo or video content.

You have good instincts for content that will perform well with social audiences.

You know how to spot and pitch new opportunities, as well as how to navigate and avoid bad ideas when they arise.

You understand when “done” is more important than “perfect”, just as well as you understand why “accurate” is more important than “fast.”

You are analytical; you see connections between facts and can turn them into a compelling story.

You are empathetic. You know your own strengths and weaknesses and can understand the point of view of others. You have experience working with a variety of teams, and you build strong, trusting relationships.

You have excellent project management skills, and are highly organized with the ability to manage multiple project deadlines efficiently.
