Summary:

This position will perform a variety of engineering tasks with automated test equipment (ATE) and functional test stations in regards to product sustaining engineering. The position requires supporting customer focus teams (CFTs) and working with customers establishing test requirements and equipment to support assemblies. Additionally, this individual will engage in tasks related to supporting manufacturing production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to all ESD requirements and Board Handling.

Use of Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on component moisture sensitive levels (MSL).

Install/improve customer-specific functional test stations and programs for both customer furnished equipment and OnCore generated processes.

Work as an extension to CFTs within the OnCore site and provide support to manufacturing processes and the customer based on customer input and execution of the manufacturing process in the factory.

Expansion and/or installation of custom functional and ATE board and system-level testers and programs.

Program and maintain flying probe programs.

Tester documentation and procedure development.

Maintain and update existing programs, ICT and Functional Test fixtures when necessary.

Support production staff in meeting monthly production goals.

Failure Analysis.

Replicate failure/complaint.

Troubleshoot to root cause.

Validation within failing population.

Recommend, and where applicable, implement solution.

Sustaining engineering and Tester capacity analysis, manufacturing failure data analysis and improvement plan presentations.

Support and follow all ISO standards related to OnCore’s various Quality Management Systems. These systems may include, but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety and security.

Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.

Perform all other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to utilize electronic manufacturing system

Ability to train to IPC-A-610.

Ability to use lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, signal generators and signal analyzers to determine if test stations or test product is causing failures.

Ability to read and understand schematics and debug non-functional product, supporting the manufacturing teams.

Exposure and understanding of common programming languages and platforms. (C++, C#, Java, Perl, AutoIt, Python, Labview, and/or Visual Basic).

Understanding of computer architecture, Windows OS and networking. Ability to install additional components and update drivers when necessary. Familiarity with Linux a plus.

Knowledge and understanding of test equipment communication protocols such as GPIB, RS-232, USB, I2C, SPI, etc.

Component, board and system level debug and analysis skills will be utilized.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize based upon deadlines.

Adapts to change, is open to new ideas, takes on new responsibilities, handles pressure, and adjusts plans to meet changing needs.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Circuit analysis of analog, digital and RF circuits to aid test technicians for debug.

Methodical troubleshooting skills for quickly determining test station failures.

Experience/Education:

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent,

4+ years experience in a similar environment.

Knowledge of manufacturing test tools such as, Flying Probe, ICT, Boundary Scan, and functional test methodologies at both the board and system level.

General knowledge of SMT and Box-Build manufacturing details and methodologies.

Exposure to PCB layout principles and tools.

Comfortable with CAD or PCB viewer tools.

Understanding of common electronic manufacturing documentation a must.

Effective use of common electronic manufacturing equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, PLD programmers, etc.
