Comstock Resources is based in Frisco, Texas and is engaged in the acquisition, development, production and exploration of oil and natural gas with operations concentrated in the Haynesville Shale in North Louisiana and East Texas.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide detailed technical and commercial evaluation for Reserves, RBL, and Rating Agencies
Own all aspects of quarterly reserves process (forecasting, LOE, drill schedule, type curves, RTA, etc.)
Maintain data gathering and QC processes, regularly cross-referencing multiple systems for data integrity/consistency while focusing on automating systems and processes
Generate engineering presentation materials including reserve evaluations, field studies, technical analyses and other exhibits for quick looks, executive summaries and board-level valuation presentations
Present results of engineering analyses to Technical Team, Senior Management, Auditors and Capital partners
Perform research on industry trends that impact economics, including technological breakthroughs and operating conditions
Use ARIES at an expert level working closely with Engineering Analysts to ensure accuracy in ARIES runs
Support team members in tasks as well as any additional tasks deemed necessary by management
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with RTA in an over pressured dry gas reservoir desired
Multiple years of experience in operations, reserves, and evaluation work desirable
Strong proficiency with evaluation software such as ARIES, Excel, Spotfire, Access and PowerPoint
Candidate must be commercially oriented and understand the fundamentals of cash flow, economics and rate of return, as well as the ability to assess technical risk qualitatively as well as quantitatively
Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests
Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong team-oriented skills
Requires excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels of organization
Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
BS Engineering degree required; MBA or MS preferred
4-10 years of prior related petroleum engineering experience; energy investment banking or A&D experience with an active E&P company a plus
