JOB TITLE: Product Development Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Product Development

OVERVIEW
The Product Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the execution of the development of new products for Summer Fridays, organizing and tracking the flow of associated documentation, as well as assisting with projects/activities that improve the performance, quality, and profitability of the existing assortment.
RESONSIBILITIES
Supporting all new product development initiatives through helping with briefs, organization of submissions, tracking evaluations and feedback, and providing thoughtful insight based on knowledge of the prestige beauty space, ingredients, and trends.
Maintaining and organizing all files and tracking documents for all development related items – including both electronic files and physical submissions within the office.
Cataloging and maintaining inventory for product samples including competitive benchmarks, innovation presentations, and project submissions.
Collaborating with marketing on pre-launch sample requests for proactive planning. Managing, requesting, tracking, and distributing all associated internal samples.
Following up with CM partners on testing and submission samples, including weight claim, PAO and other product-specific attributes.
Supporting the creation of new product launch documents to include competitive analyses, product briefs, product charts and formula specifications.
Supporting the review and evaluation of batch samples and production standards from CM partners for ongoing production.
Creating, facilitating, and analyzing surveys to capture feedback on both submission evaluations and consumer preferences/routines.
Researching, tracking, and reporting on product/ingredient trends, consumer trends, forthcoming regulations, innovation, and competitive activities, and recommending appropriate actions.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years of product development experience in the beauty industry, ideally in prestige skincare or color cosmetics
Knowledge of the prestige beauty market and a passion for products, ingredients and how they work
Familiarity with regulatory affairs, compliance, and required testing within the beauty industry
Strong organization and filing skills
Sense of urgency
Proven track record of attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and tasks with precision and detail
Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
Solid problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and business acumen
Flexible personality to take on new challenges as they come and to switch gears immediately when necessary
Strong knowledge of MS Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management platforms (strong knowledge of Monday.com platform a plus, but not required)
Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
