Position Summary

The Quality Systems Manager is a corporate-level role responsible for maintenance and continuous improvement of quality systems, supporting a comprehensive quality program in a strong food safety culture to ensure Regulatory (FDA), Global Food Safety Initiative (SQF), and Customer Expectation compliance.

Five Primary Responsibilities

§ Document creation, updating, management, and review for Quality & Food Safety policies and procedures.

Conduct both on-site and virtual internal audits and reviews of Production Facilities and Distribution Centers.

Manage Supplier/Customer documentation to ensure continuous compliance.

§ Lead administration of QA software packages for document control, supplier compliance, internal auditing, CAPA management, and customer complaint tracking.

Manage the development and execution of Quality, Food Safety, and Food Safety & Quality Culture training curricula across all departments and locations.

SQF Safe Quality Food Compliance

It is the responsibility of every employee to ensure that V & V Supremo’s food safety and quality management system complies with food safety regulations and SQF compliance. In turn, our customers are assured that the product has been produced, processed, prepared, and handled according to the highest possible standards.

All employees are required to comply and promote compliance with V & V Supremo’s food safety program and polices, including but not limited to:

Hazard Prevention: Help to keep all work areas clean and free of unsafe obstacles.

Educate: Educate yourself and others on the correct standard operating procedures for the task you are responsible for.

Accountable: It’s your responsibility to understand and comply with the Company’s SQF policies and procedures

Report Food Safety Issues: It is your responsibility to communicate any food safety and quality problems to your supervisor to initiate action.

Training: Attend all required training and pass all necessary knowledge or skill-based evaluations.

Key Activities

§ Document creation, updating, management, and review for Quality & Food Safety policies and procedures.

Conduct both on-site and virtual internal audits and reviews of Production Facilities and Distribution Centers.

Coordinate and support SQF, Customer, and Certification audits.

Engage with Facility QA Managers and other cross-functional Managers/Supervisors to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Monitor CAPA plans for sustained success.

Manage Supplier/Customer documentation portal programs to ensure on-going compliance (ex., TraceGains, Repositrak).

Manage internal documentation programs for finished goods and ingredient specifications.

§ Lead administration of QA software programs for document control, supplier compliance, internal auditing, CAPA management, and customer complaint tracking.

§ Perform management reviews and lead/conduct facility & corporate mock recalls.

Manage the development and execution of Quality, Food Safety, and Food Safety & Quality Culture training curricula across all departments and locations.

Drive companywide SQF, FSMA, and Food Safety awareness.

Identify opportunities to strengthen Food Safety & Quality Culture across the organization.

Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.

Responsible for following Safety (OSHA) regulations and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Skills Required

Working knowledge of an evolved food safety and quality management system including supplier management, customer management, and HACCP/FSMA compliance

Experience using Microsoft Office and QMS/WMS software systems

Strong written and verbal communication abilities; experience writing and maintaining technical documents

Ability to influence and persuade others to effect change

Must be results-driven, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently

Over-night travel (by car) to facilities is required, up to 20%

Necessary Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or related sciences

5 years’ experience in quality, food safety, and/or compliance, including experience in program development, implementation, and sustained improvement

2 years’ experience in production facility quality management, preferably dairy

HACCP and PCQI certifications (within past 3 years)

Internal Auditor certification preferred

Proven knowledge of food safety/quality standards & regulatory requirements such as Preventive Controls, Food Safety Modernization Act, HACCP, and Global Food Safety Initiative, preferably SQF
