It’s an exciting time to join our clubs and we are currently seeking an assistant superintendent to join our golf course maintenance team at The Huntington Club.

Title: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Annual Salary: 65,000-70,000

Job Summary

The assistant superintendent is an integral part of the maintenance team at The Huntington Club and is involved in all aspects of the golf course maintenance operation. The position will be an excellent opportunity for a positive learner who has a background or education in turf. The Assistant Superintendent’s position will play an active role in the implementation of all daily maintenance operations, responsible for monitoring the overall health of the turf and reporting any issues to the superintendent. This position will have knowledge of the game of golf and passion to excel in the Turf industry. Job Tasks

· Check all details on the golf course as assigned by the superintendent.

· Monitor the overall health of the turf.

· Conducting regular inspections of the golf course to identify areas for improvement and address any issues in a timely manner.

· Assist the maintenance team in all chemical and fertilizer applications.

· Assist the Irrigation Technician in repairs and construction projects.

· Operating and maintaining golf course equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety protocols are followed.

· Become familiar with our job assignment system and set up daily jobs for crew.

· Supervising and training groundskeepers and maintenance staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.

· Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry best practices including our local CUP.

Administer all aspects of The Huntington Club Safety Program.

Represent The Huntington Club Golf Course Maintenance department in a positive and professional manner including attitude, appearance, and speech.

Maintain effective employee and public relations.

Qualifications

· An associate degree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant, or soil science is preferred.

· Experience in golf course maintenance is preferred.

· A desire to learn about the construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf courses, putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.

· Aptitude for administrative and executive responsibilities including effective oral and written communication skills and computer proficiency.

· Must obtain and maintain California qualified applicator certificate within 6 months of entry into this job.

· Knowledge of the game of Golf and ability to interpret the rules and regulations set forth by the USGA.

· Valid driver’s license.
