The Network and Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring prompt response of the IT Service Desk while maintaining the operation of production server and network equipment.

While providing the highest level of customer service, the Network and Operations Specialist, tracks all information in a ticket tracking system, uses a knowledge base tool along with their expertise to resolve tier 1-2 requests in a timely fashion.

The Network and Operations Specialist escalates unresolved problem/issues/requests to the proper tier 3 support team.

Troubleshooting basic end user issues on various software applications, hardware, network and telecommunications systems and provide basic desktop support.

Role and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain server room equipment and environment Become familiar with and operate the Systems, Network, Core Applications and each team in the IT Department Responsible for user support and customer service.

Being present and available to clients requiring technical assistance Become familiar with each client and their respective applications to support and troubleshoot quickly Respond to questions from all client's emails and calls Be able to support technical requests in-person, remotely and video calls Learn fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment utilized in organization Learn and follow helpdesk policies and services Manage assets using asset management software strictly following policies and procedures Conduct quarterly asset counts with IT and Finance teams to ensure corporate compliance Manage purchasing of consumable needed for the office Other duties as assigned by the IT Director Skills and Qualifications Experience/Technology: Windows 10/11 and Linux (Centos/Ubuntu) Virtualization software: VMware Deployment, Setup, Troubleshooting, Management, Vmotion, VMware Clustering, Shared Storage and Vcenter Active Directory (experience with migration to new forest would be a benefit) Strong understanding of Internet Protocol, including subnetting, port management IP management & Network Access Control Web Filtering/Proxy Technology (SSL Decryption) Auditing, documenting and applying latest OS security practices PC Image creation/deployment and application deployment (SCCM) WSUS update management.

Package Management system (SCCM) Articulate knowledge articles and SOPs (multilevel training documents for users and technicians) Physical Installation and Decommissioning of Network, Server and Desktop components VOIP Phone system ( Samsung VOIP Systems / Cisco ) Remote Support for remote offices and employees Video conference setup and support (Crestron / Polycom / Cisco Webex) Work with HR for employee status information Batch and PowerShell scripting MS SharePoint Ticketing systems, issue tracking (ZenDesk, Jira, etc.) Monitoring system and users.

User account management Asset Management using internal system Understanding of network routing between intranet and external networks segregated by network firewalls and security devices Support and Management of Propriety Systems, Applications and Equipment Support and Management of Mobile Devices Knowledge/Experience/Education: Ability to utilize the applications for Microsoft Office for support, reporting and documentation Ability to provide technical support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor Some experience with physical installation of servers and network equipment would be an asset Excellent oral and written communication skills Good problem solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others Ability to handle constantly changing flow of traffic; remain productive during slow times, be able to multitask effectively during busy times, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations Creativity.

Ability to think around problems and come up with creative solutions is helpful Ability to work with or without direct supervision Dress code is business attire College Degree or higher Relevant IT certifications would be an asset 5+ years work experience Samsung is an equal employment opportunity employer.
