JOB SUMMARY: The Shipping Generalist makes sure that items large and small are shipped, according to schedule, in a safe and secure manner, to satisfy the needs of our clients, exercising quality control procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Supervises the physical movement of stock, tools, equipment and materials.

Ensures all inventory and equipment is properly loaded and/or unloaded for all event orders.

Assists shipping manager with all fleet dispatch procedures and logs.

Supervises the physical movement of stock, tools, equipment and materials.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet delivery/install schedules.

Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of team members.

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

Continuously seeks long-term team member retention through training, feedback and positive coaching methods.

Sets a leadership example for team members to follow.

Troubleshoots and resolves employee questions and concerns pertaining to shipping, facilities and transportation.

Pays close attention to the shipping areas and their physical appearance, ensuring standards are upheld.

Assists the shipping managers with managing the recycling program.

Able to interact in a professional manner with individuals at all levels of the organization, including clients, employees, and visitors.

Pays attention to details, composing, typing and proofing materials.

Must respect confidentiality in discussing clients, proprietary information, and staff issues.

Lift objects safely, asking for assistance as required to prevent injury.

Works overtime when required (at time and a half).

Shows up when scheduled, ready, and able to perform assigned duties.

Completes other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

GED or High School education.

1 to 2 years shipping experience.

1 to 2 years experience with Microsoft Office.

Able to train and coach staff often, in an effective manner, with an emphasis on productivity and working safely.

Must be able to provide written reports to management.

Be flexible and able to adapt to changing client requests.

Be organized, detail-oriented and a strong team leader.

The employee must be able to drive 16' and 24' truck.

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Bilingual in Spanish a plus

The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 45 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to heavy

The temperature will vary from hot to cold depending on the weather
