As a Governance Director within the Business Banking team, you will be tasked with the design, implementation, and maintenance of a centralized oversight framework to mitigate risk and safeguard our clients and business. Your responsibilities will encompass daily operations, managing a team, and promoting strategic agendas. **Job Responsibilities**

+ Lead governance in the business for functions including: recurring communications, disclosures, legal document templates, vendor management

+ Ensure adherence to firmwide policies, standards, and regulatory obligations in support of organization commitment to compliance

+ Drive initiatives across all products and services in Business Banking to establish new protocols and/or uplift existing, as needed

+ Partner closely with Controls and other critical stakeholders to ensure issues are addressed timely and root causes are resolved

+ Work with internal Legal, Controls, Compliance, Audit, Risk, and across Lines of Business to effectively mitigate risks

+ Provide strategic insights for improving the business control environment and consistency across products and platforms through automation, simplification, centralizing, etc.

+ Protects the firm by applying sound risk management protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements

+ Be a culture carrier for a diversity, inclusion, and control mindset

**Required qualifications, capabilities and skills**

+ 5 years of experience in a Leadership role and 5 years of financial services industry experience in the field(s) of Controls, second-line (Compliance, Risk) or third-line (Audit)

+ Experience executing across functional teams and strong ability to develop partnerships across the Business Banking organization and extended partners

+ Ability to adapt and actively looks for ways to mitigate risk to our clients and the bank

+ Makes decisions using sound judgment; communicates findings, issues and proposed solutions to business executives

+ Appreciation for operational complexities and how they may translate to risk

+ Produces clear and succinct written and verbal communications and knows how to think through and frame messages for different audiences

+ Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills**

+ Bachelor's degree

+ Technical understanding of internal controls, operational risks, and infrastructure (such as CORE)

+ Knowledge of Business Banking processes, procedures and business applications
