Position Summary

HCL Software develops, markets, sells, and supports over 20 product families across four main pillars: Customer Experience, Digital Solutions, Secure DevOps, and Security and Automation.

The Patch Architect is responsible for technically managing all the key modules under non-Windows (.nix and Middleware) Patch Team and customer support function leveraging HCL Product and Platform solutions. He/she will work directly with HCL SW platform support function teams, Cloud and Managed Hosting support team to deliver support that address client business needs (both industry and business) and deliver client value while supporting HCL SW specific business strategies.

The Patch Architect is responsible for understanding HCL SW Product portfolio, customer requirements and deliver critical features and SLA bound services.

The Patch Architect will also work closely across HCL Products sales, services, development, support and customer advocacy. He/She will be technically supervising a team of developers, L3 engineers and automation testers, while working closely with management, external vendors, and advisors. This position requires the ability to handle global team, and to take accountability for Support Services

What will you be doing:

Responsible for architectural design and E2E technical delivery.

Delivering Services to the customer according to the contract and adherence to agreed Turn Around Time.

Will be the first point contact and will be responsible for the overall management of technical delivery for our customers.

Make recommendations on strategies in respect of various technologies.

Establish and maintain standards and methodologies for providing quality deliverables to the customers.

Work closely with Product Management and other Architects on building the roadmap of the Key delivery items.

What we need from you (Qualifications, Skills and Experience):

Required qualifications / experience level and skills:

Should have 15+ years of experience, and a demonstrated track record in software product development, enterprise Cloud/Infrastructure Support Services

Should have experience in design and development of applications using Python.

Ability to carry out investigations/ work on POCs independently and propose new Solutions.

Should have experience working on Request Module, Beautiful Soup (bs4), RestAPIs, lxml, Scrapy, Django/Flask and Selenium.

Should have experience writing Regular Expressions and Yaml recipes.

Should have worked on Shell Scripting(bash/PowerShell) and Web Scrapping technologies.

Should have worked on one or more .nix environments(RHEL, UBUNTU, AIX, CENTOS, SUSE, SOLARIS, HPUX, WINDOWS and Mac OS).

Must have 2+ years of experience working on Frontend technologies like ReactJS and/or AngularJS.

Experience with DevOps and Public Cloud Technologies including AWS Hosting Services, GIT, Configuration Management, CI/CD Pipeline

Experience working with Kernels/ Kernel level updates on the .nix OSs (Admin level experience preferred).

Experience in Database (SQL Server, DB2, MySQL) Should have worked on any one Database.

Experience in Junit tests and Unit Test framework

Should have carried out code deployment process in Linux environment.

Should have worked on build tools like Jenkins.

The following are “nice to have” skills:

2+ years of experience with Containers and Kubernetes (Docker / Kubernetes /Ansible).

Experience in building and running applications that exploits the advantages of the cloud native services

Experience working with product development, engineering and support functions to find solutions to manage business activities

Understanding of product development lifecycle and methodologies

Experience in DevOps and Agile Development

Deep understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements

Solution Design and Cloud Architect experience in delivering cloud solutions

Experience in delivering and managing Containers as a Service

Prior work experience in BigFix is preferred.
