Job Description
Food Service Worker
Salary: $16-$18 hourly
Location: Site may vary (Emergency relief availability mandatory) Essential Duties:
Assist in preparation of meals according to menu/recipe as needed
Read menus, estimate needs for each meal, and ensure that adequate supplies are available prior to meal preparation.
Accurately prepare weekly inventory and submit by deadline.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and delivery equipment as needed.
Insure compliance with Dept. of Health by labeling all food products that are opened.
Maintain nutrition records (i.e.: Temperature control logs, etc.)
Perform food preparation and serving in compliance with program specifications.
Train volunteers in serving procedures, storage, and cleaning tasks.
Four to six hours per day occasional weekends required.
Other duties as assigned and necessary.
Punctual and Regular Attendance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Exemption free live scan clearance within 12 months (Department of Justice, FBI and Child Abuse Index
High School Diploma or GED
Food Service Background
Ability to rotate to multiple sites as needed
Pass a health screening, Immunized against: Influenza, Pertussis, and Measles, TB test and drug screening Clearance
Bilingual a plus
Ability to read and write English and to communicate at the level required for successful job performance
Licenses & Certifications:
Current Food Handlers Permit required
CA Driver’s License and proof of Automobile Insurance
Current and clean DMV printout report
Physical & Mental Demands:
Fast paced environment
Ability to multitask
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
