Position Summary:

The Banquet Server position is responsible for all banquet and service production for all banquet related events. This position will set up and break down hotel special event and serve food and beverages to banquet/event attendees. The Banquet Server will assure that the guest’s needs are consistently exceeded while following 6PM Hospitality’s Core Values, Hilton standards, and local health department standards.

Essential Functions:

Greet guests and oversee actual service on a routine basis.

Participate in all banquet activities, including day, night and weekend activities.

Assure that the banquet room areas are set up at the beginning of an event and cleaned at the end of the event

Assist arriving guests in finding their seats and direct guests to in-house facilities

Serve event attendees food and beverages

Promptly attend to guest complaints or issues and escalate to Banquet Supervisor immediately

Maintain constant communication with supervisor, to ensure all meals/course are out in a timely manner

Verify special/allergy/dietary requests by guests are double checked and follow up

Have knowledge of Battle Creek and surrounding areas to answer questions about event attendees

Ensure special requests by guests are given prompt attention

Participate in daily team meeting both pre-shift and post shift

Exhibit regular and recurrent attendance record

Follow all 6PM Hospitality Processes

Other duties as requested by management

Has complete knowledge of menu items, bar products, and pricing

Report to work in professionally appropriate attire, presented neat, and clean

Maintain appearance, upkeep, and cleanliness of all food and beverage equipment and facilities

Ensure all safety and sanitation standards are met

Participate in sanitation and cleaning schedules to meet and exceed health department standards

Demonstrate exemplary customer-centric behavior at all times

Must maintain the highest level of professionalism to achieve the high standards of service and quality for which 6PM Hospitality Partners, LLC and Hilton is known

Position Requirements:

Minimum Knowledge:

Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions.

Requires typing, record keeping, and/or word processing. Good communication skills

Formal Education and Job-Related Experience:

This position requires a minimum formal education of a HS Diploma or equivalent related experience

Six months job-related experience preferred

License, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

CPR

Workload Fluctuation: The workload required to perform this job requires ability to adapt to change

Manual Skills: Significant portions (more than 50%) of daily assignments involve application of manual skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger dexterity, e.g., typing, handwriting, or machine operations

Physical Effort: Some portions (10- 50%) of daily assignments involve prolonged standing, transporting material or equipment, or lifting, moving, or carrying heavy (over 30 pounds) materials for intermittent periods throughout the day

Physical Environment: Some portions (10-50%) of daily assignments involve exposure to dirt, odors, noise, or temperature / weather extremes. Working surfaces may be un-level, slippery, or unstable

Work Schedule: Work regularly requires or varies between day, evening, night, holiday, and/or weekend assignments. Schedule varies according to business demands and needs.

Occupational Risks: Some portions (10- 50%) of daily assignments involve occupational risk, such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, injuries from falls, or back injury sustained with assisting in moving, lifting, or positioning equipment or materials

Ergonomics Risks: Some portions (10 – 50%) of daily assignments involve ergonomic risk, such as regular repetitive tasks, forceful or prolonged exertions of the hands, vibration, cold temperatures, heavy lifting, pulling, pushing, or carrying of heavy objects, poor body mechanics, restrictive workstations, or awkward postures

Safety: Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures of 6PM Hospitality

Required Travel: This position stays on the property. No travel required.
