Position: Shipping and Receiving Associate

Location/s: Columbus, OH

Duration: Full time, Permanent

Pay Rate: Up to $18.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM); 3rd Shift (11:30 AM - 8:00 AM) Overtime is required

Job Description:

Qualdoc seeking Shipping and Receiving Associate who will be responsible to lift, transport, store, and load materials and products by use of cranes, hoists, or forklifts. Supports the administration of incoming and outgoing parcels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Also verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.

Prepares bills of lading.

Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.

Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.

Inserts items into containers.

Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products.

Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.

Requisitions containers and other supplies for delivery to workstations.

Verifies or prepares records such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders. Requirements:

Minimum of 1 + years of experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment

Must be able to read blueprints, and use Vernier calipers and micrometers

Must have formal welding education (e.g. Hobart and Edison) or equivalent experience

MIG and TIG welding experience a must

Experience with stainless and aluminum a plus

Ability to analyze and interpret weld symbols

Good attitude and communication skills

Strong attention to details Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MRP, email, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

One needs to be able to effectively operate within and navigate electronic databases and data entry systems.
